Training Specialist (hourly consulting position)
- Name of employing hospital and department:
National Center for Image Guided Therapy, Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital
- Minimum degree and field of specialized knowledge required to perform the job:
Candidate must have a minimum of a BS degree in Engineering, Physics or Computer science.
- Minimum years of experience required in the field:
At least two years proven experience in engineering research (including computer programming) and at least one year of proven experience in teaching in higher-education.
- Licenses or special skills necessary to perform the job:
- Experience in image guided therapy is a strong plus.
- Experience in programing in a UNIX environment is a strong plus.
- Candidate must have sufficient language skill to conduct lectures in English.
- Knowledge of patient-to-image registration, image registration, image segmentation, and medical visualization is advantageous
- Knowledge of any of the following is a plus: image processing, coordinate transformations, and machine vision
- Characteristic duties and responsibilities:
- Design and coordinate training programs for image guided therapy based on 3D Slicer.
- Conduct training courses approximately three times per year (international and national).
- Develop training resources by preparing notes and visual displays in coordination with training needs and specific departmental needs.
- Collaborate with management to perform interviews and consultation surveys to analyze training needs.
